Painterly is a term which describes a set of qualities which are perceived as being distinct to the art of painting. The term was popularised by Swiss art historian Heinrich Wolfflin, who used it to describe the characteristics of oil paintings.Painerly is a procedure developed by Nuwan Panditha for Adobe giving a digital image the look and texture of oil painting.
